Birds, horses and trees

Hi there, thanks for popping over to have a look at my photos. I hope you’re well and having a good week? This week I’ve been taking photos of birds, horses and trees. The weather has been cold but beautiful so I managed to get out for the first time in a while.

And so we’ll delve straight in. Remember, click on the photo to view a larger image, they look better that way πŸ™‚

Birds

As you’re well aware by now, I love the birds πŸ™‚ I took a walk along Silchester Wall a couple of weeks ago and chanced upon a friendly robin. He was happy enough to pose a moment whilst I snapped him on a fence and then on a headstone.

And with the cold weather comes the birds looking for a snack. This blue tit was on the feeder for a good few minutes. Most of the time they flit on and off very briefly, I think he must have been hungry!

Horses

I’d missed out on some amazing winter sunrises recently. I finally got my act together and took my camera in to work with me. Along the way I stopped off near Amner’s Farm and these are the results;

And last weekend I took a stroll over at Whitehill, near Kingsclere and saw these two horses…

Trees

And of course you know of my fondness for trees, the lungs of the earth πŸ™‚Β The first photo was taken on New Year’s Day up in Appley Bridge.

The next two were shot near Beech Hill in West Berkshire

And that brings to an end my post of birds, horses and trees. I hope you liked them. As always, you can order prints of these or any others on my website. Just drop me an email and let me know which ones.

Weekend Up North

Hi, another Wednesday and some more photos, this time taken from my weekend up north a couple of weekends ago. Do feel free to leave any thoughts or feedback in the comments boxes πŸ™‚

It was my Mum’s birthday and we treated her to tickets to see ELO in Manchester, and of course we had to go as well, just to make sure she enjoyed herself of course πŸ™‚

It was a great gig, lots of fun and nice to spend some time up north with my family. The weather behaved itself too which was an added bonus, meaning I could wander around some of my old haunts.

I drove up on the Saturday afternoon and it rained so much on the way up, I was thinking that the whole weekend up north would be a wash-out. By the time evening came however we we’re treated to a gorgeous sunset;

The Sunday was gorgeous weather so I took advantage of it and drove to the small village of Parbold, where I went to primary school. It brought back so many memories…

Sadly there was nowhere to park up in the village centre as I’d have loved to have taken some shots along the Leeds-Liverpool canal. I ended up driving through Hilldale and up Hunter’s Hill where I was treated to some spectacular views;

The tower off in the distance of the middle shot above is Blackpool Tower. To the left you can even make out a rollercoaster!

I took quite a few shots while I was up north but haven’t managed to look at them all so there may be the odd one or two pop up at some point in the future πŸ™‚

Thanks so much for taking the time out to look at my photos of up north, I hope you enjoyed them. As always I’d love to know what you think, which is why there’s a comments box so please feel free to use it πŸ™‚

And of course prints are available to buy of any of my photos, either use the photos to buy link or email me directly.

Cheers,

Mart

My usual haunts

Well the weather has dictated once more how much or how little I can get out; it’s been a bit hit and miss the last few weeks with most of the decent weather happening during the working week. Typical πŸ™‚ Roll on Spring Time…not long to go now until the clocks go forward which means lighter evenings so I can get out for longer…

Still, I did manage to venture out once or twice, nowhere special, just the usual places (I really need to explore new places…) but in the meantime here’s a few photos from the last couple of weeks from my usual haunts…

Charter Alley Church

This is a quaint little church I happened across somewhere between Monk Sherborne and Charter Alley, Hampshire
