Another week of randoms

Hi once more, I hope you’re well? Thanks for visiting, this time is another week of randoms! Typically I’ll have a week of getting out and snapping some shots and posting from 1 or 2 sources. Recently though it’s not been the case and I have to trawl through my backlog. This means one or two photos from various other sources, which is what we have today 🙂

Holiday Memories

To begin, a few photos taken whilst on break, and below is a shot I recently edited of Portrane Beach.

Above is an edited shot of the tower at Lahinch Golf Course

Disclaimer – I am NOT a golfer 🙂

And a couple of shots left over from my summer break in Dale, Pembrokeshire. It really was a beautiful place 🙂

The top shot was taken along the front at Dale. Middle shot was from Marloes Beach and the bottom shot at Dale West.

Autumn in Burghfield

As titled really, these were taken a few weeks back when it really felt like Autumn was here. It was bright, crisp and fresh that day; I can still remember the sights and smells. Since then it’s just been a little on the wet and dull side…give me those blue skies again!

Autumn Elsewhere!

A little further afield, although not too far! The top shot, taken on my phone was taken near Midgham and the bottom shot from the Discovery Centre in Newbury.

Gotta love the tree tunnels 🙂

Wokingham

Ah yes, the town where I work! I took these 3 on my iPhone last Friday and edited them using a couple of apps on the phone. This takes me back a bit…

And..to close…

A couple of nature shots, some beautiful leaves, the ‘almost’ supermoon and a sunset at Ufton Nervet.

I took the moon shot at 17:21 last Sunday, a day before the true supermoon. I’m glad I got to take this shot because the Monday was very cloudy!

In and around Dale

Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at my blog. As promised some time ago, this week I’m posting up some photos from in and around Dale. We were there towards the end of July and were so lucky with the weather. The first couple of days were a little on the misty side but then it brightened up. So much so that one of the days was the hottest of the year so far!

I’ll try to put these photos in some kind of order as I edited them all out of sequence. So starting with some of the wildlife I saw and snapped;

Forgive my ignorance, but I tried to look these birds up and I think they are dunnocks…We had a several bird feeder stations in the house we stayed at. They kept the local birds well fed.

This one turned away right at the crucial moment.

There were plenty of sleepy snails taking refuge from the heat.

Below is a field-digger wasp. I spotted him as I was going down some very steep steps along the Coastal Path in West Dale.

There were plenty of insects around due to the heat. Below, a hoverfly comes in to land.

And below, a keeled skimmer dragonfly warms up and dries off in the early morning sun.

And on to the scenery. To say it was breathtaking would be an understatement. Even the first couple of days where the weather wasn’t too good, I found beauty around me. This is the seafront at Dale on a misty morning ;

The same seafront, but in the evening. Apparently this was the night of the huge full moon. Unfortunately it was obscured by clouds in Dale, but what an amazing blue hue…

The next shot was taken on the cliffs just above West Dale beach. Not sure who that was stood on the edge of the cliff…

Whilst the next 3 were taken at Barafundle Bay. This was probably my favourite beach of the holiday. By the time we got there is was pretty much deserted, that said I don’t know if it had been busy or not, it was so clean.

The panorama shot below is of Marloes Beach. Again this was a great beach but it had no shelter at all. This turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far.

And, to finish, a few shots of St David’s Cathedral. I loved this place. Despite not being religious I find most churches and cathedrals to be amazing buildings, so intricate and lush.

I still have a few more photos of in and around Dale but need a little more time. Hopefully I’ll have some ready for next week.

As always I’d like to thank you for your time. Feel free to leave comments below, I alway like to know what you think.

If you would like to purchase any photos from my site, just email me and let me know what you would like 🙂

Until next time…
