Nine more photos

Hi there, remember me? ๐Ÿ™‚ I know it’s been a few weeks since I last posted some photos, I hope you’re well? ย This week I’ve nine more photos to post up, which I hope you like.

As usual from my nine more photos there are some new and some old. Starting with the old..

Hose Hill Lake

I took these almost a year ago to the day down at Hose Hill Lake, Burghfield. It was a beautiful day, the air was so crisp and clear, perfect for taking a photo or two. Oddly I passed over these pictures back then (sometimes I take so many that this is easily done ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Barkham

Taken earlier this year – January to be precise – in Barkham, on the way to Wokingham. It was a wonderfully cold morning back then. I managed to grab a shot just as the sun was peeking over the hill. Perfect timing!

Nine more photos

Castle Combe

I still rate this place as one of the quaintest places I have ever visited. It’s a tine little village nestled somewhere in Wiltshire. The sky is editedย to give a more interesting look, I want to go back on a better day…

Summer

…seems like a distant memory now. We did have a good one, didn’t we? I took this on my way back from Reading, along the River Kennet. It was a beautiful day and it was the first time I’d followed the river into town.

Nine more photos

Frosty Grazeley

And these last few were taken last week, about 8am as I was driving in to work. It was one of those clear and frosty mornings that I love so much.

And there we have it, nine more photos to add to the collection! I hope you liked them. I’m hoping that the weather gets a little more interesting in the coming week as this white cloud is a bit dull!

Until next time, take care,

Random photos from the last few weeks

Hi, I hope you’re well? It’s midweek once more and today I’m posting up some random photos from the last few weeks. These are a mix of left-overs from my last few posts so without further ado I’ll post ’em up ๐Ÿ™‚

This first shot, one of our cats called Freddie was actually taken a couple of years ago, shot and edited on my iPhone but it came out really well I thought. It’s in my recent folders as I have entered it into a contest on Viewbug. Feel free to hop over and lend me some support, these are all the photos I have entered into contests on Viewbug. The standards are very high so I need all the help I can get ๐Ÿ™‚

The next couple were taken a few weeks ago in our back garden and shows Freddie on the prowl…

And these kind of mark the start of my interest in taking photos of birds, something I’d not really been interested in doing until the robins showed up in their droves….

This was taken when I was up north, near Appley Bridge and was one of the photos I didn’t edit until after ย my Weekend Up North blog. It was a beautiful day that Sunday, such fantastic blue skies and lovely, white fluffy clouds floating in the sky.

And finally these 3 were taken at Bolton Abbey, the first set of photos I took can be found here. Again, I had taken loads of photos that day and had;t edited them all in time for my weekly Wednesday post which is why every now and again I post up these random photos in between a specific subject.

The last week or so our garden has played host to loads of robins, so my next blog will no doubt reflect this ๐Ÿ™‚

Until then, take care,

Weekend Up North

Hi, another Wednesday and some more photos, this time taken from my weekend up north a couple of weekends ago. Do feel free to leave any thoughts or feedback in the comments boxes ๐Ÿ™‚

It was my Mum’s birthday and we treated her to tickets to see ELO in Manchester, and of course we had to go as well, just to make sure she enjoyed herself of course ๐Ÿ™‚

It was a great gig, lots of fun and nice to spend some time up north with my family. The weather behaved itself too which was an added bonus, meaning I could wander around some of my old haunts.

I drove up on the Saturday afternoon and it rained so much on the way up, I was thinking that the whole weekend up north would be a wash-out. By the time evening came however we we’re treated to a gorgeous sunset;

The Sunday was gorgeous weather so I took advantage of it and drove to the small village of Parbold, where I went to primary school. It brought back so many memories…

Sadly there was nowhere to park up in the village centre as I’d have loved to have taken some shots along the Leeds-Liverpool canal. I ended up driving through Hilldale and up Hunter’s Hill where I was treated to some spectacular views;

The tower off in the distance of the middle shot above is Blackpool Tower. To the left you can even make out a rollercoaster!

I took quite a few shots while I was up north but haven’t managed to look at them all so there may be the odd one or two pop up at some point in the future ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much for taking the time out to look at my photos of up north, I hope you enjoyed them. As always I’d love to know what you think, which is why there’s a comments box so please feel free to use it ๐Ÿ™‚

And of course prints are available to buy of any of my photos, either use the photos to buy link or email me directly.

Cheers,

Mart

Maya, Paddy and a robin

Hi there! Happy Wednesday, I trust you’re well and life is being good to you ๐Ÿ™‚ This week I have a few photos of Maya, Paddy and a robin as well as a couple of left-over shots from when I went to Dinton Pastures a few weeks ago.

You’ll already know Maya, our Ridgie. Well we took a walk with friends of ours through a gorgeous place called Little London which is just on the outskirts of Silchester and Tadley, in Hampshire. Paddy is their dog, he’s a Wire Fox Terrier and is a proper handful of trouble, but he and Maya get on so well and love running, fighting and flirting with each other.

He really is as much trouble as he looks, bless him!

Up until a few weeks ago when I was wandering around Sulham Woods and photographed the Posing Robinย I was not really too fussed about birds, but now it’s an area I want to get more proficient in. These 2 shots were taken from my bedroom window. They are a tad on the grainy side as I only have a 75-250mm lens and I had to zoom all the way in, then when I came to edit them I had to crop right into the image. Still, I think they came out pretty well, all things considered ๐Ÿ™‚ What do you think?

The next few photos were taken in Chapel Row, a lovely little place in West Berkshire.ย There is a fantastic tree-lined road that leads straight into Chapel Row and a little open park where I spotted a trio of ducks waddling around in;

And, to finish, a few throw back shots of our walk around Dinton Pastures a few weeks ago…when I go out and about taking photos I always take loads. I’ll usually spend a little time editing a selection and post them up pretty much straight away. Then I’ll re-visit the album a few weeks later and usually more of them will leap out at me…

Thanks for taking the time out to look at the photos of Maya, Paddy and a robin, I hope you like them. I’m always happy to hear your thoughts on them so please leave your thoughts and comments in the blank boxes below ๐Ÿ™‚

Prints are also available to buy, just click hereย for a selection, or email me and tell me which ones you’re interested in. I bought an aluminium print of one of my photos and have to say it’s a beautiful medium so why not spoil yourself… ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways, enough of the hard sell, I hope to have some more pics up next week, so until then take care…

Been a while

Hi there, well it’s been a while since I last posted anything on my website, mainly down to rubbishy weather and lack of time to get out and take many photos. With the clocks going forwards as we go into Springtime hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder as I really miss being outside taking photos.

Just a few photos to post up really but I hope you like them nonetheless. Starting off with a few flower shots which I took while practicing some close ups;

Then a couple of our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maya, such a cutie but trying to get her to stay still without bribing her with snacks is a bit of a pain ๐Ÿ™‚

Just Maya

And keeping the animal theme going, some lovely horses in a field in Sulhamstead, just up the road from where I live. I got talking to the owners while I was there and the guy said if any of my photos came out well he’d be interested in seeing them, we didn’t exchange email addresses so I hope he chances upon my site. I only got one or two shots as it was getting dark but I’m planning on going back up there soon, weather dependant of course….

Sulhamstead horses

And, to finish off, a couple of sunset shots, both from Grazeley but taken a few weeks apart with the last one only taken last night and in different parts of the area.ย A big shout-out to those who drove past while I was taking the photos who beeped and shouted at me ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed the photos, hopefully it won’t be as long before I post up some more, but until then, take care and please leave any comments or feedback in the comments box.

Don’t forget also that prints of my photos can be bought ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheers,

Frosty Playground

Hiya ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you’re all well and have had a good couple of weeks. This time around I’ve got a few random shots but focussing mainly on some photos of a frosty playground which I took last Friday morning after we had a bit of a frosty start to the day.

First off is a photo I took last night of the Snowย Moon. I only found this out last night but apparently each full moon has its own name. Last night’s has a few; Hunger Moon, Snow Moon and Bone Moon. I had just left the house to walk Maya when I saw it just above the horizon. I was a bit gutted I couldn’t just grab a few photos of it there and then but had to wait until I got back before I could capture it, but which time the colour was draining and it had risen above the treeline so I couldn’t pull anything into the frame as an anchor…

Hungry Moon

The shot below was really just one of several practice shots with using my macro lens, I took a few with different exposures and merged them to create a true HDR shot. I was playing with the depth of field, hence the foreground being out of focus (yes, it is intentional, honest ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Yellow Flower

The 2 shots below were taken in Beech Hill a week or so ago…

Yellow Sky

Beech Hill

The first shot was a zoomed in shot from where the sun appears just behind the tree line, whilst the second shot was taken using a wide-angle lens and zoomed all the way out to show the fields and road.

Sulhamstead Pano

The photo above is made up of 2 shots stitched together and was taken in Sulhamstead as the sun sank behind the house. I love these kinds of silhouetted shots, especially with such warm and inviting colours. I reckon the would look amazing as a print.

Playground

Swings

Roundabout

And, the final 4 shots were taken at the little recreation ground in Burghfield, just near the Hatch Gate pub. We had had a bit of a chill the night before soย the colours in the air were pretty crisp and sharp. I thought the frosty playground looked kind of cool.

As always thanks for your time, I hope you liked this week’s offerings. I’m always keen to get any feedback you have, so feel free to post a comment, let me know what you think.

And, as I’m sure you already know if there are any photos you’d like to buy as prints then let me know. Normal prints look great but canvasses and aluminium prints look amazing ๐Ÿ™‚

You can either let me know directly which ones you’re interested in, or click through from the Prints to Buyย section and order direct ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time, take care.
