Birds, horses and trees

Hi there, thanks for popping over to have a look at my photos. I hope you’re well and having a good week? This week I’ve been taking photos of birds, horses and trees. The weather has been cold but beautiful so I managed to get out for the first time in a while.

And so we’ll delve straight in. Remember, click on the photo to view a larger image, they look better that way πŸ™‚

Birds

As you’re well aware by now, I love the birds πŸ™‚ I took a walk along Silchester Wall a couple of weeks ago and chanced upon a friendly robin. He was happy enough to pose a moment whilst I snapped him on a fence and then on a headstone.

And with the cold weather comes the birds looking for a snack. This blue tit was on the feeder for a good few minutes. Most of the time they flit on and off very briefly, I think he must have been hungry!

Horses

I’d missed out on some amazing winter sunrises recently. I finally got my act together and took my camera in to work with me. Along the way I stopped off near Amner’s Farm and these are the results;

And last weekend I took a stroll over at Whitehill, near Kingsclere and saw these two horses…

Trees

And of course you know of my fondness for trees, the lungs of the earth πŸ™‚Β The first photo was taken on New Year’s Day up in Appley Bridge.

The next two were shot near Beech Hill in West Berkshire

And that brings to an end my post of birds, horses and trees. I hope you liked them. As always, you can order prints of these or any others on my website. Just drop me an email and let me know which ones.

Mainly Macro

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re well? Over the last few weeks I’ve been taking mainly macro shots and today I’ll be posting up some more of my photos of bugs and spiders, so I hope you’re not too freaked out by them πŸ™‚ Maybe you could leave me a few words to say yay or nay to these 8 legged freaks?

To start though just a little landscape shot I took in Midgham, West Berkshire. It’s nothing too spectacular but I love the greens; it shows what a rich and verdant country we live in.

Mainly Macro

Staying with landscapes, we had a beautiful but brief sunset one evening last week so I popped out with my camera, took a drive around and got a few shots;

I took a few more but haven’t had a chance to look through them all so you may see a couple more in the coming weeks.

I think the shot below is white campion, which grows in abundance around here but this was taken in Wokefield Common.

This shot is a Forget Me Knot, again from Wokefield Common. Below that is a foxglove with a little ant…

And so on to the part that is mainly macro. The only ones I have managed to ID so far are the 2 spiders. The first is a baby Garden Cross spider. The second is a type of stretch spider called Tetragnatha extensa;

Below is a cute little ladybird;

And the next couple don’t have names – or rather they do, I just don’t know them!. Feel free to let me know if you know what they are…

And, to finish things off, my favourite little bird…

As always thank you for your time and hope you liked the photos I posted up today. I always ask but I would like to hear any thoughts you have, the comments boxes are waiting πŸ™‚

If you like any of the pics and would like to buy a print or two then again please contact me.

Been a while

Hi there, well it’s been a while since I last posted anything on my website, mainly down to rubbishy weather and lack of time to get out and take many photos. With the clocks going forwards as we go into Springtime hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder as I really miss being outside taking photos.

Just a few photos to post up really but I hope you like them nonetheless. Starting off with a few flower shots which I took while practicing some close ups;

Tulips

Then a couple of our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maya, such a cutie but trying to get her to stay still without bribing her with snacks is a bit of a pain πŸ™‚

Just Maya

And keeping the animal theme going, some lovely horses in a field in Sulhamstead, just up the road from where I live. I got talking to the owners while I was there and the guy said if any of my photos came out well he’d be interested in seeing them, we didn’t exchange email addresses so I hope he chances upon my site. I only got one or two shots as it was getting dark but I’m planning on going back up there soon, weather dependant of course….

And, to finish off, a couple of sunset shots, both from Grazeley but taken a few weeks apart with the last one only taken last night and in different parts of the area.Β A big shout-out to those who drove past while I was taking the photos who beeped and shouted at me πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed the photos, hopefully it won’t be as long before I post up some more, but until then, take care and please leave any comments or feedback in the comments box.

Don’t forget also that prints of my photos can be bought πŸ™‚

Cheers,

Mart
