Nine more photos

Hi there, remember me? 🙂 I know it’s been a few weeks since I last posted some photos, I hope you’re well?  This week I’ve nine more photos to post up, which I hope you like.

As usual from my nine more photos there are some new and some old. Starting with the old..

Hose Hill Lake

I took these almost a year ago to the day down at Hose Hill Lake, Burghfield. It was a beautiful day, the air was so crisp and clear, perfect for taking a photo or two. Oddly I passed over these pictures back then (sometimes I take so many that this is easily done 🙂 )

Barkham

Taken earlier this year – January to be precise – in Barkham, on the way to Wokingham. It was a wonderfully cold morning back then. I managed to grab a shot just as the sun was peeking over the hill. Perfect timing!

Nine more photos

Castle Combe

I still rate this place as one of the quaintest places I have ever visited. It’s a tine little village nestled somewhere in Wiltshire. The sky is edited to give a more interesting look, I want to go back on a better day…

Summer

…seems like a distant memory now. We did have a good one, didn’t we? I took this on my way back from Reading, along the River Kennet. It was a beautiful day and it was the first time I’d followed the river into town.

Nine more photos

Frosty Grazeley

And these last few were taken last week, about 8am as I was driving in to work. It was one of those clear and frosty mornings that I love so much.

And there we have it, nine more photos to add to the collection! I hope you liked them. I’m hoping that the weather gets a little more interesting in the coming week as this white cloud is a bit dull!

Until next time, take care,

Small window of opportunity

Hi, happy Wednesday and I hope you had a great Easter Bank Holiday. Don’t know about where you were, but last Friday we had some nice weather, meaning I had a small window of opportunity to take some photos, pity the rest of the Easter weekend wasn’t up to much, with plenty of wind, rain, hail and even thunder and lightning, all courtesy of Storm Katie!

Well luckily we had decided to leave the usual household stuff until the Saturday & Sunday and had a chilled day on the Friday so I took Maya down to the canal for her morning walk. Honestly, trying to get her to pose is nigh on impossible, here are a couple of half decent shots I managed to get…

Above is just a random flower I saw on the footpath near the canal, set against the dark ground the colour caught my eye….

…and below is a daffodil I shot in Beecham, a small little village near Aldermaston. Again I liked the depth of field effect…

So in the late afternoon we decided to take stroll around Dinton Pastures; have to say it’s one of my favourite places especially on late afternoons when the sun starts to set, such a lovely scenic place.

This fella was pottering about on the lake, I like this photo as it creates such a serene atmosphere…

Then this dude paddled over, probably thinking I had some food to give him…

A little further around the lake and the sun starts to dip, casting gorgeous colours across the lake…

I hope the fab weather we had last Friday is just a taste of things to come, I can’t wait to get out there once more and get snapping…

As always I hope you have enjoyed the photos I’ve posted. Please let me know what you thought by typing some words into the comments box, feedback is always welcome.

Also, if you’re interested in buying prints, canvasses or print on any other media then please let me know. I’ve had some great feedback from those who have bought my photos 🙂

Until next time, take care,

Mart

Posing Robin

Hi there on yet another murky Wednesday, I hope you’re well despite the trials the weather has set for us! Thanks for stopping by, today I have a few shots of a posing robin, amongst the usual sunrise/sunset and tree photos 🙂

Please let me know your thoughts using the comments box, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Also, for larger images, just click on the pics…

I’ll start with this sunrise shot taken from last week when I stopped off on my way to work and grabbed a quick couple of shots from Beech Hill, a rather pretty little village a stone’s throw from where I live.

Before the colours kicked in

Sunrise shot taken in Beech Hill

A couple of weeks ago I took a walk through Fulham Woods again and whilst I didn’t take any tree shots this time, I did grab a few photos of a posing robin, a cute little dude who seemed more than happy to sit there whilst I took shot after shot of him sitting there on a branch only a couple of metres away.

Plump little dude

Turning away...

Following on from that little fella I grabbed a shot of another posing robin in the back garden at home…

Our back garden robin

I really want to put a bird feeder up on our grand oak tree at the bottom of our garden, up until this point I was;t too fussed about bird photography but these chance encounters have piqued my interest in the little critters. I think I should wait until our two cats are a little bit older so they wouldn’t have any inclination to climb up to the feeder for a tasty snack…

Ok, so it’d be a rare thing for me not to post up a tree shot, and here it is…the tree that I see whenever I look out of the living room window, taken one frosty morning last week…

Frosty Morning Tree

Which leads me on to the closing shot of the moon hanging above the twinkling lights of early evening Reading…

Scantily clad moon

I hope you enjoyed these photos. Weather permitting I’ll have some new ones next week.

Don’t forget you can purchase any of the photos I post within these blog pages, just let me know which ones you’re interested in and what format (normal print, canvas, aluminium etc) and which size and I’ll be more than happy to let you know the cost 🙂

I also have a page on Viewbug where there are various competitions etc, why not head on over and take a look 🙂

Thanks,

Mart

Another Random Selection

Hi there, once again it’s been a little while since I last posted here, apologies for that!

Unusually I’m posting this at the start of the week as I am on annual leave today and tomorrow – I would say enjoying the weather but for the second day running it’s pretty foggy out there!

For larger images please click on the photo 🙂

This time I have yet another random selection of photos seemly from a few various places. I think in this situation I best start off with the oldest photos first, and as usual I have a few flashback photos to begin with. These tow were taken last January in Shinfield and Barkham respectively;

Flashback Jan 2015 Field TMLR

Flashback Jan 2015 Barkham Field LR Pano TMLR

The one below is from the start of summer when I went to Castle Combe. I’l definitely be going back here again, such a beautiful place….

Castle Combe Row of Houses beartLRTMLR

These two were taken at the end of August on my trip to Wales, the top one in Aberystwyth and the one of Maya was taken on Borth Beach. Another beautiful place to spend time in. Quite possible that I’ll be back there again next year.

Aberystwyth Beach TMLR

Maya at the Beach LR

The next 3 were from Shinfield on separate early evenings, taken whilst on my way home from work using my little Lumix TZ70…

Early Evening Shinfield Sky LR

Shinfield Sunset Over Tree Watermarked LR

Shinfield Sunset Over Tree Thistles LR

This one was taken during a flying visit to Upper Bucklebury. I only got the one shot as I was literally just passing through. Another of my favourite places.

Autumnal Field in Upper Bucklebury

These next few were taken a couple of weeks ago when I discovered Paices Woods, just on the edge of Aldermaston, purely by accident. There are about 8 or 9 little fishing lakes here, very picturesque…

Paice Woods Tree in Pond bearts

Paice Park Trees NIKLR

Autumn Branches TMLR

And to finish I have a shot or two from Wasing Park, again just outside Aldermaston. It was a beautiful Autumn afternoon the day I took these and the ones at Paices Wood.

Wasing Park Avenue Merged

Wasing Park at Road Level TMLR

Well, once again thank you for taking time out to look at my photos. I told you it was another random selection but I hope you liked them nonetheless.

I’ll be re-jigging parts of my website int eh coming weeks and re-designing the ‘Prints for Sale’ section so please do stop by again soon.

Take care,

Mart

Random Selection

Hi there, I trust you’re well? You might have noticed I didn’t post anything up last week? Sorry about that, the weather wasn’t very conducive to the type of photography I enjoy…as well as having a few family commitments and things going on.

But I’m back with a random selection of photos, the first few are leftover pics of the last day of my holiday in Borth, Wales;

Day 3 House on Rocks NIKLR

Day 3 Waves on Borth NIKLR

Blackbird D0F New Quay TMLR

Blackbird D0F New Quay 2 TMLRSharp

The photo immediately above was my attempt at doing some long exposure photography…I still need a bit of practice but I’m getting there…..slowly 🙂

Farmyard Near The Vyne TMLR

Lonely Tree at the Vyne LR

The 2 shots above were taken outside of the wooded area of The Vyne, just between Basingstoke and Tadley. Usually when we go there to walk Maya we stick to being under the canopy but on this occasion we ventured out, following a path that led across a few fields and towards a clutch of beautiful houses. Definitely going to go back there to explore a little more. This day I only my little Sony Cybershop T77 with me but I think the photos came out ok. What do you think?

Full Moon LR

So last Sunday evening we had the most amazing moon – the Super Moon it was hailed as. I took the above photo pretty early on in the evening, before the eclipse took place. It was really quite beautiful watching the moon rise up, looking rather pinky-orange in the sky.

I posted this pic up on Facebook and was completely humbled by the response it got! Thank you all so much those of you who saw it there and liked, commented and shared it. I was grinning like…well like a lunatic 🙂

I’d also sent it off to the BBC and was completely taken aback to see that they included it on their slideshow of the superman!

Parhelion in Grazeley Green LR

And I took the shot above when I saw the parhelion as I was driving home after work.

Burghfield Sunset LR

Woolhampton Avenue Merged

James Lane Field Flare LRNIKSharp Grad

The above shots were taken in Burghfield, Woolhampton and Burghfield (again).

Kingfisher TMLR

And finally, I was taking Maya for a walk along the River Kennet and had come to the bridge I like to stop and take in the beauty that the Berkshire countryside has to offer. I noticed a flash of brilliant blue fly out over the river and land on an overhanging branch. I couldn’t believe my luck; sat there looking really quite stunning was a kingfisher. I’ve never seen one in real life and they are quite magnificent. Annoyingly I only had my little camera with me so I squeezed of a few shots, the above photo being the best of the bunch.

I do keep going back to see if he’ll show himself again but as of yet no luck…

Ok, I think I’ve rambled on aplenty about my random selection of photos this time around, thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this photos and hope to see you again next week (weather/family permitting!!!)

Before I go, please do leave me feedback in the comments box, I’d really love to know what you think of my photos and this website 🙂

Borth

Hi again, how’s life with you all? I hope it’s being kind to you…halfway through the week and the weekend lies in wait, that’s gotta be a good thing, right?

Well this week I’m going straight into it with photos from the 4 or 5 days we spent in Borth, Wales with my sister and her family.

The weather was as you’d expect it to be along the Pembrokeshire coastline; vey changeable! Luckily the majority of the rain and storms happened either at night or while we were driving to and from places.

If you’ve never visited Wales then I strongly suggest you do; the coastline is absolutely stunning and the houses so picturesque. Exploring some of the single track roads down along the coast gave us the opportunity to see some truly quaint little hamlets and villages. It’s definitely a place I want to explore in more depth.

Without further ado…..

Day 1 Borth Beach NIK LR

Day 1 Borth Cliffs NIKLR

Day 1 Borth Flared Houses TM LR

Day 1 Silhouetted Girls on Beach TMLR

Day 1 Sun Flare Borth LR

The photos above were taken on the first evening we were in Borth, Wales

Day 2 Borth Beach TM Merged LR

Day 2 Leo NIKLR Sharp

These 2 above were taken in Borth. Leo is my sister’s dog.
Day 3 Aberystwyth Coast TMLR

Day 3 Aberystwyth Sea Front TMLR

Day 3 Aberystwyth Sea TMLR

Day 3 Aberystwyth War Memorial TMLR

The photos above were all taken in Aberystwyth, only 7 or so miles away from Borth.

Day 3 Along Pembrokeshire Coast TMLR

This was taken whilst driving back to Borth from LLangrannog but it shows the beautiful coastline spread out.

As always I welcome your feedback, please leave me a few words in the comments box, let me know what kind of photos you like, which ones you’re not too keen on or even just to say hi 🙂

See you next week,

Mart
